OF USE

PET 1M is a public wall of one million real pets, each with a permanent number. Adding a pet is free. You keep ownership of your photo and your words. In return you promise the pet is real, the photo is yours to share, and you'll keep it friendly.

You sign in with your email address — there is no password. Anyone with access to your inbox can sign in as you, so keep it secure.

One account per person, and up to two pets per account. Accounts created to game the numbering are removed.

You must be 16 or older to add a pet. Younger owners should ask a parent or guardian to add the pet for them.

Only add a pet that is yours, or one you have the owner's permission to add.

Only upload a photograph you took or own the rights to. Photos taken from the internet, from a breeder's website or from someone else's account are not allowed.

You keep the copyright in your photo. By adding it you give PET 1M permission to show it on your pet's page, on the wall, in club pages and in the share card generated for your pet, and to resize or re-encode it so it loads quickly.

You can remove your pet at any time from My Pets, which takes down its page and photo.

Every approved pet is given the next number in the sequence and keeps it permanently. Numbers 1–100 are Founding pets, which is simply a consequence of the number, not something we award or sell.

Numbers are not transferable, tradeable or purchasable, and we don't reissue a number if a pet is removed.

Anything covered by our content rules: photos that aren't of a pet, distressing or explicit images, images of people as the subject, advertising, or anything illegal.

Automated or bulk submissions, or attempts to interfere with the site, the counter or the numbering.

We can remove a pet, an account, or refuse a submission if it breaks these rules. Where an email address is attached, we'll tell you why.

PET 1M is offered as-is. We work hard to keep it up and to keep your pet's page and number safe, but we can't promise the site is always available or free of faults, and we're not liable for lost photos beyond restoring what we hold.

We may change or stop features. If a change would remove something you rely on, we'll say so on the site.

If these terms change in a way that matters, we'll say so on this page and update the date.
